Careers for Biodiversity
A programme involving on-campus and other related activities that encourage youth empowerment and employer engagement in the biodiversity sector. The programme aims to attract and enable access to higher education and related skilling of talented students and graduates as they bridge from learning into the work environment. The following key programmes have been identified in support of this initiative:
Work Integrated Learning
Led by WWF-SA on behalf of the GreenMatter partner network, the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Project under Bridging into Work seeks to respond to some of the key systemic challenges associated with the transition of new graduates from the learning environment into the workplace. In the short term from 2013 to 2016, this project has focused specifically on the work integrated learning experience of the student intern who requires placement as part of a curriculum requirement to complete his / her qualification.
Career Guidance for Higher Education Students
This programme focuses on campus-based green career initiatives to promote access to and use of careers information to inform better career decision making amongst university students. It empowers higher education students in making informed career and study choices to access and develop productive careers in biodiversity.
